The role of the assistant in every hair restoration procedure is of vital importance. The care of  every patient, the preparation of the procedure as well as the harmonic collaboration with the surgeon are core ingredients that lead to a successful transplant.

London Hair Restoration Training Academy has developed a 15 day training course which includes in depth theoretical training through the educational online platform as well as one week intensive workshop sessions in our co operating clinics. This course will develop the following skills:

  • Patient preparation for surgery and post-procedure care
  • Knowledge in how to prepare the session room, infection control procedures, sterilization of instruments etc
  • Knowledge in purchasing and maintaining inventory of instruments and consumables needed for the hair transplant sessions.
  • Organization and preservation of the grafts during extraction phase.
  • Technique for effective graft loading during implantation phase.
  • How to perform PRP training.
  • Unit A: Hair loss and alopecia

    • Hair follicle anatomy and physiology
    • Types of alopecia (cicatricial and non cicatricial)
    • Androgenetic alopecia in men
    • Androgenetic alopecia in women
    • Alopecia areata in specific
    • Diagnosis of hair loss and alopecia
    • Operative and non operative alopecias- contraindications for hair restoration
  • Unit B: Diagnostic procedures

    • Consultation method
    • Psychological aspects
    • Mathematical aspects – alopecia test
    • Medical aspects – pre-op instructions
    • Cases of possible low hair growth
    • Clinical estimation of the scalp prior to the hair restoration
    • Follow up procedures
  • Unit C: Operative procedures

    • Direct IN technique
    • The FUE Technique
    • Advantages of the Direct In methods in comparison with FUE and FUT methods
    • Local anesthesia – constitution and administration
    • The important D-points of Direct In method.
    • Special cases and conditions in hair restoration (unshaven, line shaving, repetitive placements, pop-out phenomenon, shock loss phenomenon)
    • Hair restoration complications
    • Post-op instructions – photos
    • Facial and body hair restoration
  • Unit D: Non operative treatments and methods

    • PRP treatment (PRP kits and protocols)
    • Direct-mpg procedure
    • Pharmaceutical treatments (Minoxidil and Finasteride)
    • Laser comb and ATP program
    • Synthetic hairs, extensions and Hair pieces
  • Latest CV
  • BSc Degree of Nursing and/ or midwifery or
  • Two year nursing degree
  • Valid Passport and visa for the E.U when applicable.
  • Any proof of English knowledge in B2 level or more.

Following the completion of the training program the students have the option to do hands on practice and training inoperative and diagnostic department in the London Hair Restoration Training Academy cooperative clinics.

The certification process includes an oral examination with the Scientific committee as well as a written examination.

The trainees who will successfully pass these tests will receive a Certification of Attendance issued by London Hair Restoration Training Academy.
